Have you ever thought about using your leftover food scraps as a skin tonic?

Most likely heard of cucumbers to soothe tired eyes but what about strawberries?  Take a look below & see how you can give those scraps another chance before they head to the compost & pamper yourself at the same time!

 

AVOCADO SKIN & SEEDS

Benefit - Moisturising boost

Containing beta carotene, protein, lecithin, fatty acids, & vitamins A, D, & E they moisturize & protect your skin from UV rays & increase collagen

Rub the used skin & seeds on your skin.

 

CUCUMBERS 

Benefit - Soothe eyes, calm skin

Cucumbers contain both vitamin C & caffeic acid, two antioxidants that, when applied to skin help wrinkles, sun damage. Place over eyes to reduce puffiness & skin to soothe sunburn.

 

STRAWBERRIES

Benefit - Remove dead skin

Rich in antioxidants, including ellagic acid which when applied topically reduces UV damage by inhibiting enzymes that contribute collagen breakdown.Rub over face & leave for 10 mins then rinse.

 

COFFEE GROUNDS

Benefit - Stimulate blood flow

Coffee helps stimulate blood flow & Olive oil is high in antioxidants & vitamins A, D, E, and K.

KIWIFRUIT SKIN 

Benefit - Rejuvenate tired skin

A powerful antioxidant that moisturises, rejuvenates & soothes skin. High in vitamin C & E, its can protect the skin from degeneration.

Use leftover flesh on skin to rub over face, rinse after 15 mins.

 

USED TEABAGS 

Benefit - Soothe puffy eyes

Steep or save old tea bags, black, green or chamomile for 5 mins & allow them to cool.

Lie down & place them over the eyes for 10mins to reduce puffiness.

Compost when done
